Atlas Insurance PCC, a pioneering Maltese insurance organisation with roots dating back to the 1920s, underwrites over 20% of the general insurance market in Malta. It was the world’s first traditional insurance company to convert into a Protected Cell Company (PCC). Continuing its legacy of innovation, Atlas was also the first PCC to establish a branch in the UK.

With its UK branch and authorisation across all EEA territories, Atlas offers significant, fully admitted, capacity solutions. Its PCC structure enables MGAs and brokers to take ownership of their capacity and operate seamlessly across the UK and Europe without requiring fronting arrangements.

Atlas issues over 1.5 million policies in the UK and EU each year through its hosted cells. It offers captives, InsurTechs, and third-party writers the opportunity to have their own EU and UK insurance carrier cells. By leveraging the economies of scale inherent in the PCC model, cell owners enjoy reduced capital expenditure, lower costs, and more efficient management time compared to setting up standalone insurance companies.

As an independent organisation, Atlas offers flexibility in cell management, including the option to subcontract to authorised insurance managers.
