Lloyd’s Delegated Authority Briefing

Callum was appointed Director of Delegated Authority at Lloyd’s in 2025. His role consolidates all delegated activities (performance, oversight, approvals, and audit) into one cohesive unit to ensure a holistic approach to Delegated Authority (DA), which is future-proof and responsive to the evolving nature of DA models.

Callum has a strong commercial background, having worked extensively across the Lloyd’s market in underwriting roles. Most recently, he served as the deals execution lead at Lloyd’s, where he led several high-profile new entrant transactions. Previously, as a consultant, Callum gained extensive experience throughout the delegated value chain globally, working with carriers, MGAs, and brokers to define and implement their DA strategies.

Nick joined Lloyd’s in late 2022 as Head of Market Development.  He is responsible for global market development, structured solutions and the process of admitting new syndicates & managing agents to the market.  Previously he was a Director at PwC, leading technology-based transformations for commercial and specialty (re)insurers, MGAs and brokers. Before PwC Nick spent nine years at the UK-based insurer RSA in head office and line management roles.  He worked in strategic planning, portfolio management and latterly led Sales and Client Development for RSA’s Global Risks business in EMEA.

Hugh has been with Lloyd’s since 2015, where he is responsible for promoting the Lloyd’s market to UK brokers and MGAs. Before joining Lloyd’s, Hugh worked at the Lloyd’s managing agent of Mitsui Sumitomo. Earlier in his career, he held roles in public service, working for the Irish government in Dublin and the European Commission in Brussels.

Julia joined Lloyd’s in 2022 and currently leads the delivery of strategic, transformative change across the Delegated Authority landscape. Her work focuses on strengthening market and performance oversight, streamlining operational efficiency, and elevating service delivery across the Lloyd’s ecosystem.

Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Julia held underwriting roles within the Lloyd’s market at both a an MGA and a Lloyd’s syndicate

Nick joined Lloyd’s in 2017 as Reviews Manager within the Delegated Authorities Team. In his current role, Nick chairs the cross-functional Third Party Material Issues Forum, coordinating Lloyd’s response to significant matters involving approved coverholders and delegated claims administrators. He also oversees an allocation of managing agents for compliance with the Customer Outcomes Principle for Doing Business.

Nick began his insurance career in 1995 and has specialised in delegated authority roles since 2002. Before joining Lloyd’s, he was Coverholder Audit Manager at a Lloyd’s managing agent, where he led a global audit programme. He also served as UK Head of Audit & Inspection at an insurance services firm, leading a team conducting delegated authority audits for London market insurers.

Catherine is Director of Syndicate Performance. She leads the Syndicate Performance team, the Lloyd’s Pricing Actuaries and the Underwriting Oversight and Governance team. She is responsible for overseeing the sustainable underwriting performance of syndicates operating in the Lloyd’s market.

Catherine joined the Corporation of Lloyd’s in 2022 having been part of the Lloyd’s market since 2000. She has been an underwriter and held positions leading underwriting performance, operations and management teams. Before joining Lloyd’s she held SMF 16 and 17, heading up Compliance and Financial Crime functions. Catherine has experience working across both Lloyd’s managing agency and company market platforms.
