Boards, investors and vendors are all pushing MGAs to ‘do AI’, while capacity providers want to see controls in place. Yet most AI pilots never reach the P&L. In our experience, the problem is rarely a shortage of ideas: most MGAs have more use cases than they can fund, and a list isn’t a strategy.
This session makes the case for starting with economics. Agree the business objective first, such as premium growth, claims costs, underwriting quality or expense ratio, and let it decide which ideas are worth pursuing. Every initiative then has to show which measure of that objective it moves, from what baseline to what target; those that can’t are dropped.
Using familiar examples such as underwriting copilots and claims triage, we’ll show what separates a pilot that reaches the P&L from an interesting demo, and how the right initiatives let MGAs grow without adding headcount.
Make the hour count for you
Before you join, tell us where your MGA is on its AI journey. It’s one question and takes about 30 seconds. We’ll use your answers to tailor the session, and share the anonymised results during the webinar so you can see how you compare with the rest of the market.

Learning Objectives
- Explain why a list of AI use cases is not a strategy, and how to link each AI initiative to an MGA business objective.
- Outline a practical way to narrow many AI ideas down to shortlist of viable opportunity, ranked by value, effort and risk.
- Describe the data, integration, governance and compliance gaps that typically stop MGA AI initiatives reaching production, and how readiness sets the pace of delivery.
- Explain what makes a pilot “managed”, so it ends in a clear scale or stop decision, based on the measured business outcome.
Krzysztof Szabelski
AI Innovation Partner Future Processing S.A.
Krzysztof Szabelski is an AI Innovation Partner at Future Processing. He sits down with client executives to work out where AI will pay back, and how to get there.
Previously, as CTO of a 1,000-strong technology organisation, Krzysztof has led Future Processing’s own AI transformation, through false starts to millions in new revenue and delivery costs down by over 30%.
Now Krzysztof brings that playbook to clients: each has a roadmap identifying six- to seven-figure value; with several, he is carrying it through pilots into production.
Since 2009 Krzysztof has worked on underwriting, claims and reinsurance systems, partnered with insurers’ CTOs and spoken at InsurTech NY. He is drawn to extreme challenges: AI that has to pay back, Ironman, off-piste skiing … and parenthood beats them all: no business case, no exit strategy.
Piotr Piekos
Head of Insurance Practice Future Processing S.A.
As Head of Insurance Practice at Future Processing, Piotr leads the company’s work with insurance organisations, from innovative start-ups to established London Market players. Under his leadership, the practice helps insurers, brokers and MGAs modernise their operations through data engineering, data science, AI and cybersecurity.
Currently, Piotr focuses on what it takes to move AI from proof of concept to production, arguing that most insurers need to address their integration architecture before reaching for more sophisticated models, and that the biggest competitive advantage in the London Market will go to firms that build a data stack that is both readily available and well governed.
Piotr regularly shares this perspective in industry media, including IT Finanzmagazin, InsuranceERM and InsTech. Known for his conviction that technology alone does not change how a business works, Piotr puts culture and business objectives at the centre of every transformation.
