Rob Gibbs

President & CEO SiriusPoint International

Rob Gibbs joined SiriusPoint in 2022 as President & CEO of SiriusPoint International. Based in London, Rob is a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team. Rob is responsible for setting the strategic direction of SiriusPoint’s International business across multiple sites and leading the team’s proposition to managing general agents throughout Europe.

An Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), Rob’s career in re/insurance spans two decades in various underwriting and management positions.

Prior to joining SiriusPoint International, Rob was Commercial Managing Director of RSA in the UK for just over three years. His achievements in that role include creating a single strong and profitable Commercial Lines business and leading the U.K. Corporate business to be considered ‘best in class’ at People & Partnerships, providing exceptional service and solutions to RSA’s commercial insurance customers. He also served on the board of RSA’s Reinsurance company.

Rob’s previous roles at the firm include Motability Director, Director Southern Regions, UK Mid-Market Managing Director, Profitability and Strategy Director UK Mid-Market, New Business Manager RSA Corporate and London Market Underwriter.

Tom Downey

CEO Pen Underwriting

Joining Pen in 2014, Tom initially led Pen’s Specialty division before taking on the role of CUO in 2017, where he was responsible for underwriting, capacity management, pricing, analytics, risk & governance, and claims across Pen. In 2020, Tom was appointed as Pen’s CEO, delivering a successful period of sustained growth and underwriting profitability.

Prior to joining Pen, Tom held several senior positions at RSA, including Director MGAs and Delegated Schemes, having joined them as a Graduate Trainee 25 years earlier.

Tom is a dynamic, forward-thinking insurance professional with a proven ability to lead and deliver in the UK insurance market. He places immense value on professional integrity, which is reflected in both his conduct and the conduct standards established at Pen.

A people person at heart, Tom has a real passion for seeing people maximise their professional potential. He fosters a culture where people feel empowered to take charge of their careers and grow, if they want to, with his full support and encouragement.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys gardening and, as a lifelong Celtic supporter, he has been through all the highs and lows, including a few “Old Firm” derbies too!

Ilias Tsakiris

CEO Hellenic Hull Management

Ilias Tsakiris has been leading Hellenic Hull Management Ltd since 2005 and serves as the General Manager of the American Club, Europe, a role he has held since 2016. With 30 years of experience in marine insurance, he is a graduate of the Hydra Merchant Marine Academy and Liverpool John Moores University. He began his career as an apprentice Deck Officer before moving ashore as an average adjuster in London.

Since joining Hellenic Hull Management in 1995, Mr. Tsakiris has driven the company’s transformation from a local insurer to a global leader. In co-operation with American P&I Club, he established the American Hellenic Hull Insurance Co Ltd in Cyprus and forged the strategic partnership with SiriusPoint, an A-rated global underwriter of insurance and reinsurance services. He also serves in key roles, such as a Council Member of the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI), Chair of IUMI’s Ocean Hull Committee and Vice-Chair of Piraeus Marine Club.

Under his leadership, Hellenic Hull continues to thrive through innovation, resilience, and a proactive, client-centric approach. The company has successfully navigated complex global challenges, while aligning with sustainability initiatives, such as the UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance and the Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance. Additionally, Hellenic Hull is investing in digital transformation and artificial intelligence through partnerships with Diastasys and Concirrus.

Mr. Tsakiris is also a visiting lecturer and an MoU signatory with academic institutions, such as the World Maritime University, the University of Piraeus, and the University of the Aegean. He regularly contributes to leading international maritime publications.

Laura Hancock

Managing Director Yutree Underwriting

Starting my career at Norwich Union in 1995, I moved to The Davis Group, and subsequently Bluefin where I became Distribution Director in their schemes/MGA business. I have built a 30-year career spanning sales, broking and underwriting, culminating in my current role as Managing Director of Yutree Insurance Ltd, a Chartered broking and underwriting firm, and proud member of the MGAA.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to advancing professionalism, innovation and collaboration across the insurance sector. I have chaired BIBA’s Anglia region for eight years, served as Deputy Chair on its main board, led its Regional Chairs Advisory Board, and now chair its Insurance Technology and Innovation Committee (ITIC). I have also chaired the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Broking Community Board, championing standards, talent development and modernisation across our profession. I have recently been appointed to the Board of the MGAA and am excited to contribute to their work in the UK’s MGA market.
