The Operational Edge: MGAs’ Competitive Advantage in the Evolving Market

About this session

The insurance market is evolving and MGAs are uniquely positioned to benefit. While capacity providers and legacy insurers are constrained by outdated systems and slow-moving structures, MGAs have the agility to move into new markets, launch products faster and build closer relationships with brokers and clients. That is the real opportunity and it is growing.

But seizing it requires more than underwriting expertise. Rates are adjusting, capacity providers are asking harder questions, AI is reshaping how risks are assessed, and regulatory scrutiny of delegated authority is intensifying. MGAs that run lean, connected operations will capitalise on this moment, those that remain weighed down by fragmented systems and manual processes may find themselves becoming the legacy players of tomorrow.

This session explores what a truly connected MGA operating model looks like in practice – one where compliance is built in, automation handles the repetitive, and your team focuses on growth rather than administration.

Drawing on over 20 years inside the London insurance market, Parminder Kaur shares a clear framework for assessing your operational maturity and the practical steps to move forward. In today’s world of technology and AI, getting there no longer requires millions or years.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the most common operational bottlenecks that prevent MGAs from scaling, and why adding new tools alone does not solve them.
  • Explain what a connected MGA operating model looks like across people, processes, data and partners and how it differs from a fragmented one.
  • Outline an Operational Maturity Review framework – a structured conversation mapping where they sit across the three-stage framework.
  • Describe how Invoff delivers a connected MGA operation and the practical steps available to request an operational review or platform walkthrough

Parminder Kaur

Founder / Director Invoff Limited

Parminder Kaur has spent over twenty years inside the London insurance market at the intersection of technology, operations and business architecture. As a Programme Director and Business Architect, she has led large-scale strategic transformation programmes working directly with CUOs, COOs, underwriting communities, claims, actuaries, compliance and operations teams as well as Lloyd’s / LMA itself across brokers, insurers and MGAs.

That depth of cross-functional experience gave her a rare view of how the market really works: where the friction lives, where data gets lost, and why well-intentioned transformation so rarely sticks. She founded Invoff to fix that a purpose-built platform that reconnects people, processes, data and partners across the insurance value chain, putting customer experience at the centre.
