Real estate MGA Ventis sees strong growth in first year

LONDON: 25 March 2025 – Ventis, the commercial and residential real estate MGA backed by Mission Underwriters, today reported strong growth in its first full year of trading.

Steady growth in first full year

Since launch in January 2024 Ventis has already issued 3,000 policies, protecting £5.5bn in assets, and hired two additional frontline underwriters, as well as signing a distribution partnership in the Irish market.

The business has underwritten £12m GWP in its first full year of trading, and has now also announced a build-out of its underwriting team to cater for continuing growth throughout 2025.

Two senior promotions to power continuing growth

Effective 1 March 2025, Ventis’ two Senior Development Underwriters assumed new management responsibilities in the mid-market sector, with Holly Mist promoted to Head of Schemes and Operations, and Rob Murton taking on the role of Head of New Business and Underwriting.

Two new hires to create specialist SME team

Ventis is also pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ian Newman as Director of SME. He will be responsible for the development of Ventis’ strategy in the sector and work closely with existing and prospective brokers. He has nearly 30 years of experience in insurance, both as a broker and an underwriter. He joins from Covéa Insurance where he has spent the last 13 years.

From 1 April, Jenny Attewell will be working alongside Ian, as SME Lead Underwriter. Together they will build out Ventis’ presence in the SME space. She has 18 years of experience in the SME real estate space, gained at Direct Line, NIG and most recently at RSA.
