The CBAA Model Wording – Key Guidance

Industry News

20th July 2026

As those of you who attended last week’s Lloyd’s DA Connect will know, the CBAA model wording is now available on lmadare.co – 2024/2025 – for market familiarisation.

A huge thank you goes out to the LMA DA Wordings Group, in particular Alisha Waylen from Aon Underwriting Managers who took the lead in representing the coverholder view across the last (almost) 3 years of drafting – as well as the LMA DA team, Diane, Matthew and Ray Koh (our legal counsel) who have worked tirelessly over these last few months to finally get this over the line.

There is a lot of information for everyone to digest and it will probably be best to do this in bite size chunks – so we will be running a general overview session and a series of ‘deep dives’ into each Module across the next few weeks as well as offering drop-in Q&A sessions that will be for questions targeted towards specific Modules.

We strongly recommend that you read the Modules in order after attending the relevant session or watching a recording of it (every session will be recorded and made available on lmadare.co the following day).

The 1st session will take place on Tuesday 21st July 1-2pm, with agenda:

Project Overview (including Wording Objects Library (WOL) and Contract Builder components)
Overview of CBAA drafting principles and the LMA Wordings ‘Information Model’
Deep Dive: Module 1 – Introduction and General Principles

we appreciate this is short notice but as stated the session will be recorded and available on lmadare.co for anyone who cannot attend live.

The 2nd session will take place on Tuesday 4th August 1-2pm, with agenda:

Deep Dive: Module 2 – Agreement Status & Module 3 – Amendments to this Agreement

The sessions are for anyone who is interested at managing agents, coverholders or brokers so if you, or any of your colleagues, would like to attend please hold the time in your diary and contact Matthew.Logue@lmalloyds.com to register – dial in details will be sent out 24 hours ahead of the sessions.

A full schedule of the remaining deep dives will be shared on 21st July. If you have any specific questions, please do let Matthew.Logue@lmalloyds.com know and we will try our best to ensure they are all answered during the overview on the 21st July or within the relevant Module deep dive as appropriate.
