Glemham Underwriting Appoints New Lead Farm Underwriter

Underwriting agency, Glemham Underwriting, is pleased to welcome Sophie Dunkerley to lead the continued development of its farm insurance scheme.

Sophie brings extensive experience in the insurance industry, having spent much of her career in the London Market specialising in agricultural risks, along with a background rooted in farming and livestock, giving her a practical understanding of the risks faced by rural businesses.

Sophie’s experience strengthens Glemham’s farm insurance offering; launched in 2019, the scheme offers comprehensive cover for farms, in addition to products for agricultural contracting and Environmental Impairment Liability insurance. Complementary products sit alongside the farm scheme, including Professional Indemnity, Commercial Combined, and Property insurance.

Founded on the principle of giving brokers direct access to decision-makers, Glemham continues to operate with a hands-on underwriting approach.

On joining Glemham, Sophie commented, “Glemham has a strong reputation in agri insurance, and the opportunity to work closely with brokers was a big draw for me. I’m looking forward to building on that and developing the scheme so that it continues to reflect the diversity and complexity of modern farm businesses.”

Tim Jones, Underwriting Manager, added, “We’re pleased to welcome Sophie to the team. Sophie’s extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector, along with her experience leading teams, will be invaluable to us as our farm scheme continues to go from strength to strength.”
